VITA Day Capitol Hill Policy Forum:
How Tax Time Issues Impact
Low-Wage Workers Nationwide

March 15, 2016
9:00 am - 11:00 am EST

Event Description
Tax time represents the single most important financial opportunity for millions of American households every year. And federal policy issues abound: availability of free tax preparation services, regulation of paid tax preparers, tax-time savings vehicles like U.S. Savings Bonds and myRA, and online tax preparation.
Marking the annual VITA Awareness Day and the release of new research on the evolution of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, CFED is hosting a Capitol Hill policy forum that brings together legislators, program directors, researchers and advocates to provide insights into the policies being developed to improve the tax preparation process and expand the availability of services that increase the positive impact of the tax-time moment.
Please join us for “How Tax Time Issues Impact Low-Wage Workers Nationwide,” on March 15th from 9:00 am – 11:00 am EST as we engage the most active contributors in the field and discuss innovative solutions to resolving tax time challenges. This event will be held at the Cannon House Office Building (First Street and C Street SE) in Room 340. The entrance is on opposite corner directly north of Capitol South Metro stop.
